Driven by our LITE philosophy, we are elevating the management of our supply chain responsibly in many aspects from sourcing raw material, strictly managing chemicals for production, to reducing water, energy, and chemical usage during the manufacturing processes.
While meeting LWG criteria for purchasing raw materials, we are pleased to announce an even more stringent sourcing protocol under the framework of LITE. Focusing on the sustainable use of natural resources, accountability in the supply chain and the fair and ethical treatment of animals, the LITE Sourcing concept covers the purchases of cattlehides, as well as chemicals, packaging, and other materials and assets.
By implementing more responsible sourcing practices in our facilities, together with our suppliers, we can bring a positive social and environmental impact to the communities with which we work. This also allows our customers to ensure their leather sourcing adheres to the highest standard of animal welfare, ethical and environmentally sustainable practices.
Sourcing Policy for Cattle Hides
In collaboration with the University of Wisconsin Center for Sustainability and the Global Environment (SAGE), our hide sourcing policy aligns with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and sets a new standard for the industry in combating deforestation, conversion, and promoting human rights within our supply chain. It defines strict guidelines for material procurement, particularly focusing on sourcing bovine hides. We require that all hides come from animals raised on ranches unconnected to deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon biome.

We are taking steps to sustainable packaging in order to reduce the environmental impact and ecological footprint. For example, we have replaced traditional plastic packaging with biodegradable bags, helping us to reduce up to 3.6 tons of plastic from the environment.
